This past weekend was absolutely gorgeous, and this princess didn’t waste a minute of it. My Saturday was filled with all things outdoors; starting with late morning walk through Capitol Hill to meet a friend at Good Stuff Eatery where we engorged ourselves with their cheesy-saucy-awesome burgers. Pure Bliss.
We also couldn’t resist splitting the Samoa Shake – a trifecta of perfection: chocolate, caramel, & coconut.
When we got to Eastern Market, the place was buzzing with people, happy dogs, and booths bursting with produce, jewelry and everything else in between. Here are some of the highlights:
Framed obscure and silly albums would make for great wall art.
Riding the owl trend, there were tons of these cute studs in almost every color imaginable. The earthy brown ones were one of my favorites (because let’s be real, they were all my favorite).
Sorry for the sub-par pic here, but these were from a woman’s stationary booth. Grab bags featuring retired designs were only $10! And remember retired does not mean passe – I love the bright colors, funny inscriptions, and clean design.
On my way back from Eastern Market, I stopped into Chinatown Coffee Co., one of my favorite spots. The handpours may be expensive, but I think they’re totally worth it on occasion. I had been out of my go-to Illy, or Lavazza espresso for my Moka and had been using a course ground caramel flavored coffee (yes, I am lazy sometimes), and it just was not cutting it (shocking). I picked up some Black Cat Espresso by Intelligentsia , and have been head over heels in love. Sweet, deep, and rich – this is what every morning should start with.
So tell me, do you have a favorite market or coffee shop in DC?
